In November, 2006, an exciting event was held at the swimming pool at one of the apartment buildings at Mahasarakham University– a baptism! Four Isaan Christians were baptized there as they expressed their commitment to Christ. Our good friend Pastor Khamsawai had driven over from another province in Isaan to help lead the worship and take part in the baptism. Attending the event was a young lady named Bpor who had been learning about Christ from her American friends who had come to Thailand as semester volunteers to share their faith with Isaan university students. As Bpor listened to pastor Khamsawai talk about faith in Christ, she understood even more clearly her need to accept Him as her Savior. She prayed to accept Christ that day.

On July 1, 2007, another baptism was held at the swimming pool. Again four people were baptized. This time Bpor was one of those, along with Mrs. Deng, a restaurant owner who learned about Christ though the witness of her nextdoor neighbor, Matt, a Journeyman who was faithful to share with her regularly. Also among the four were Nancy and Charlotte, two MKs who wanted to express their commitment to Christ by being baptized along with their Isaan sisters. Please pray for these four, that they will grow in their faith and be an example to others through their commitment.
