The man pictured in the middle below is named Pa Sune - pictured here at his baptism a few months ago with another new believer. Pa Sune is a former Buddhist monk who became a believer through the witness of some of the church members in a nearby village. So far he is the only believer in his family. He and his family are poor, Isaan rice farmers in N.E. Thailand.

About two months ago Pa Sune’s youngest son was killed in a motorcycle accident in Bangkok. Added to the grief of loosing his son, Pa Sune has been banned from the house of his mother-in-law where he and his wife lived. His mother-in-law believes that the death of her grandson is related to the anger of the spirits at Pa Sune’s new faith. The grandmother now wants to perform an expensive merit making ceremony to help her grandson in the afterlife.

All of this has placed a tremendous stress upon Pa Sune and his new faith. Pray that God would use this trial to grow him in his faith and dependence on God and his witness to family and villagers in Kok Glang village.
